Playful, confident, and full of personality, Rambo is anything but a typical draft horse. From the moment he arrived at Second Chance Ranch, it was clear he was something truly special. Bred by a Clydesdale breeder in Georgia, Rambo made the long journey west as a young, unstarted three-year-old — and immediately fit into the herd as if he had always belonged.
He was brought home as a companion for Stingray, our other Clydesdale, and the two bonded instantly. From day one, Rambo showed a natural confidence and curiosity about the world around him. Though the plan was to take his training slowly, Rambo had other ideas. On one early trail ride, he made it very clear that he wanted a job — and that moment marked the beginning of his training. Started simply, bareback and in a halter, Rambo followed Stingray out on the trail and never looked back.
Since then, he has proven to be one of the easiest horses to start and train. Brave, willing, and remarkably intuitive, Rambo approaches new experiences with calm confidence. He trailers easily, settles into new environments without worry, and genuinely enjoys having purpose. Despite his size, he is gentle, kind, and trustworthy — a horse who naturally takes care of his rider.
Rambo may be a Clydesdale, but he’s far from slow or plodding. He loves to lead on the trail, prefers to move out at a good pace, and carries himself with surprising athleticism. He’s already logged countless trail miles, attended shows, and competed in gymkhanas, handling every outing with grace and good humor. Though still young and relatively new under saddle, he is steady enough to confidently carry a wide range of riders.
Affectionate and endlessly friendly, Rambo is also the biggest baby on the ranch. He loves attention, enjoys treats, and forms deep bonds with the people around him. Looking ahead, his natural movement and balance make him a beautiful candidate for dressage, where his elegance and presence can truly shine.
